I love Asian food! If you do too, then why not try out my gluten-free tofu and green pepper stir fry? It is quick and easy to make and so tasty.

This dish has only four main ingredients: tofu, green pepper, cucumber, green onions (spring onions). That is correct I'm cooking cucumber! It is delicious lightly fried. Just don't overcook it our it turns mushy. Do you cook with cucumber?



gluten free sauces

Above you can see the sauces that I used. Always check that the sauces you use are gluten-free. In Canada Heinz's worcestershire sauce is gluten-free at the time I posted. Products ingredients and recipes may change so always double check. Use your favourite gluten-free brands.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 block of medium tofu
  • 2 mini cucumbers, chopped in rounds
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • bundle of green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic-infused olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon gluten-free soya sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons gluten-free oyster sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon gluten-free worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sesame seeds
Directions
  1. Drain tofu. Rinse and put in a colander above a bowl with a plate and tin on top. You want to gently squeeze out the liquid. I leave it for about 2-3 hours. Then pat dry and cut in rectangles.
  2. Cut up your cucumbers and green pepper into similar size chunks.
  3. Finely chop the green onions and set aside.
  4. Mix sauce in a small bowl. Soya sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper.
  5. Put the garlic-infused oil in a skillet and fry the tofu till brown on both sides and remove.
  6. Add the sesame oil and the cucumber and green peppers and quickly fry till slightly cooked, don't cook too long as you want them crunchy. Then add half of the sauce.
  7. Add the tofu back in, rest of the sauce and cook for about 1 -2 minutes till coated in sauce. Add the green onions and mix.
  8. Remove from heat and put in your serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds
